OVERVIEW
The Fox is a trickster and generally warns of deception, dishonesty, or underhand behavior. It adds suspicion to most situations so it tends to be more negative. It tells us that something is fishy, and so asks us to pay attention to what’s going on behind the scenes or beneath the surface. But the Fox is also clever and can call for stealth and trickery to achieve desired results. It further refers to discipline and clever management.
It’s also a card of salaried employment so it alludes to the job and the workplace, but workaholism can be an issue. So, the Fox has several sides, and the query as well as surrounding cards affect how it should be interpreted. In most circumstances it’s negative, but in the context of work or as advice, it’s neutral and can even be positive.
IN THE PORTRAIT & GRAND TABLEAU
If it falls on the first or central card of the portrait, the Fox urges us to adopt an indirect approach in all our affairs. With negative cards, it warns of a trap or deception. We should also guard against divulging any material information. If the query is about finding a new job, the Fox is usually positive.
In the Tableau, the Fox near the significator warns of deceptive people and situations. But when far, its risks are minimized and its clever side is enhanced. We’re protected from tricks and traps and can charm the birds off the trees.
ADVICE
Regardless of context, the Fox asks us to remain aware and to make sure we’re not falling for charming behavior or scams. We must avoid any dealings and involvements that don’t feel one hundred percent right. We must also guard against haste and ensure we’ve dotted the i’s and crossed the t’s.
Wit and possibly even slyness and manipulation come into play. In the very least, diplomacy, tact, and discretion, are an advantage and help us achieve our goals. We mustn’t reveal our intentions and should keep our agenda to ourselves. The Fox also advises us to be self-interested and to put ourselves and our family first. It further encourages us to commit to our disciplines without complaint.
